Constitution of The Imperial Dominion


Article 1 - The Regent

1. The Regent of The Imperial Dominion is the appointed ruler of The Imperial Dominion by the Kaiserin of The New Inquisition, and must be obeyed under all circumstances.

2. Any official region-wide decisions made by anyone must receive approval by the Regent before being enacted.

3. The Regent may make an emergency appointment of any citizen of The Imperial Dominion to any position in government if The Imperial Dominion is in a crisis, and he feels that it is necessary at the time being. An election will follow shortly, when the emergency has passed.

4. The Regent has the sole power of veto, for any decision made by anyone, in any position in government, without the possibility of it being overridden. This will only be used in the event that an actt/law of the government threatens the interests of The New Inquisition or the Kaiserin.

5. The Regent has the sole power of pardon, for convicted criminals/traitors within The Imperial Dominion.

Article 2 - The Prime Minister

1. The Prime Minister is the defacto head of the Government, but under the rule of the Regent.

2. In the event of the temporary/permanent absence of the Regent, the Prime Minister will serve as unquestioned leader of The Imperial Dominion.

3. The Prime Minister has the power to appoint new Ministers of Domestic Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defense, but only at the start of his/her term, and only if the reasons are justified.

4. The Prime Minister has the power to announce the opening of each new topic in Parliament and to create the polls within Parliament, where Parliament may vote on selected issues.

5. The Prime Minister has the power of tie-breaker in Parliament, in votes for all issues and trials, but only if necessary.

6. The Prime Minister will preside over all trials occurring in Parliament.

7. The Prime Minister will serve a term of 3 months, and will be allowed to run for reelection as often as liked.

8. The only candidates allowed to run for the position of Prime Minister are the current Prime Minister, Minister Of Domestic Affairs, Minister Of Foreign Affairs, Minister Of Defense, UN Delegate, and members of Parliament.

9. Any and all citizens may vote in the election for Prime Minister.

10. The 1st of the month of when the election will occur is when the sign-ups will begin. Members of Government will have 1 week to sign-up and campaign. On the 8th, the first election will begin, and will run for 1 week. On the 15th, the top 2 candidates will be chosen, and another election will run, to pick the actual winner of the election. The last 2 candidates will then be allowed to make ONE, and only ONE, additional statement sometime during the final stage of the election. The start of the 3-month term for the winner will then be the 22nd, the day after the final stage of the election will have been concluded, which is also when the old Prime Minister shall officially be relieved of his/her duties.

Article 3 - Parliament

1. There will be 10 members of Parliament elected, at any given time, for The Imperial Dominion.

2. Each member of Parliament will be addressed as "Lord," and will receive the respect and prestige typically awarded to one with this title.

3. All treaties cannot be approved unless they win a majority vote in Parliament.

4. The Imperial Dominion cannot go to war unless approved by a majority vote by Parliament.

5. All criminal trials will occur within the sub-office of Parliament, known as the Supreme Court, and the verdict will be rendered by a majority vote among the Lords.

6. Lords will serve terms of 6 months and may only be elected sooner if one is elected Prime Minister and leaves that spot open.

7. Any citizen, except for current members of The Armed Forces, of The Imperial Dominion may run for the position of Lord.

8. Any and all citizens of The Imperial Dominion may vote in the election for Lords.

9. The 1st of the month of when the election will occur is when the sign-ups will begin. Citizens will have 1 week to sign-up and campaign. On the 8th, the election will begin, and will run for 1 week. After the election, the 10 candidates with the most votes will be given the positions. If there are any ties for positions, then there will be another week long election for them, beginning on the 15th. The last remaining candidates will then be allowed to make ONE, and only ONE, additional statement sometime during the final stage of the election. The start of the 6-month term for the winner will then be the 22nd, the day after the final stage of the election will have been concluded, which is also when the old Lords shall officially be relieved of their duties.

10. In case a Lord is then elected as Prime Minister, then an emergency election will occur, entirely at the convenience of the Emperor, and will prevent disorganization in the ranks of Parliament. The winner of this election will then serve the remainder of the once open spot's term, and will get no extension of time in his/her noble office.

Article 4 - The Minister Of Domestic Affairs

1. The Minister Of Domestic Affairs will help make The Imperial Dominion a better place.

2. All suggestions for the betterment of the forum or the region as a whole will be sent to the Minister Of Domestic Affairs for processing and validity, and if he/she agrees with them, then he/she will pass them on to the Emperor for final approval.

3. The Minister Of Domestic Affairs will continuously search for ways to increase participation of citizens within the forum and region as a whole.

4. The Minister Of Domestic Affairs will continuously search for ways to improve this forum and the region as a whole.

5. The Minister Of Domestic Affairs will serve a term of 3 months, coinciding with that of the Prime Minister, and may be reappointed, depending on the views of the Prime Minister and the Emperor.

6. Any citizens of The Imperial Dominion may apply for the position of Minister Of Domestic Affairs, provided that they contact the Prime Minister about said application.

Article 5 - The Minister Of Foreign Affairs

1. The Minister Of Foreign Affairs will be the voice of the Emperor and The Imperial Dominion abroad and among other regions in Nation States.

2. The Minister Of Foreign Affairs will have the sole duty of acquiring allies and creating treaties for The Imperial Dominion, through various negotiations and talks.

3. The Minister Of Foreign Affairs will have the responsibility of maintaining and running the foreign embassies of allies within The Imperial Dominion.

4. The Minister Of Foreign Affairs will also have the sole responsibility of recruiting new nations to The Imperial Dominion, but may delegate this power to a subordinate, which will be known as The Director Of Recruitment, and the Minister Of Foreign Affairs will be the only individual capable of appointing this citizen to the position.

5. The Minister Of Foreign Affairs will also have the sole responsibility of appointing non-government and non-military citizens to the position of Ambassador. There will be only one Ambassador per embassy. They will have the responsibility of logging onto BOTH the forum of The Imperial Dominion, and of the foreign ally, specifically our embassy there.

6. The Minister Of Foreign Affairs will serve a term of 3 months, coinciding with that of the Prime Minister, and may be reappointed, depending on the views of the Prime Minister and the Emperor.

7. Any citizens of The Imperial Dominion may apply for the position of Minister Of Foreign Affairs, provided that they contact the Prime Minister about said application.

Article 6 - The Minister Of Defense

1. The Minister Of Defense is responsible for defending The Imperial Dominion and its allies from aggressors and foreign invaders.

2. The Minister Of Defense is in full and complete control of the Armed Forces, which are only answerable to him/her, and by extension, the Prime Minister, the Regent, and the Kaiserin.

3. The Minister Of Defense has the power to plan defenses/invasions for the Armed Forces, and must show said plans to a closed/private session of Parliament, before war can be declared.

4. The Minister Of Defense will serve a term of 3 months, coinciding with that of the Prime Minister, and may be reappointed, depending on the views of the Prime Minister and the Emperor.

5. Only current, retired, and honorably discharged members of The Imperial Dominion's Armed Forces may apply for the position of Minister Of Defense, provided that they contact the Prime Minister about said application.

Article 7 - The UN Delegate

1. The UN Delegate will serve as the liaison between The Imperial Dominion and the entity known as The United Nations.

2. The UN Delegate will have the responsibility of assisting citizens of The Imperial Dominion in creating/editing UN Proposals that they wish to submit.

3. The UN Delegate, since having more votes than normal UN members (1, plus 1 for each endorsement), may not vote either way for a UN Resolution, unless the citizens of The Imperial Dominion decide it in a majority vote located in the Office Of The UN Delegate.

4. The UN Delegate will be responsible for creating polls, in order for citizens to vote in, for each new UN Resolution that is currently at-vote on the UN page on Nation States, and must vote accordingly to the results of the poll.

5. The UN Delegate will serve a term of 3 months, and will be allowed to run for reelection as often as liked.

6. Any citizens may run in the UN Delegate election, provided that they are a member of the UN and not a current member of the Armed Forces of The Imperial Dominion.

7. The 1st of the month of when the election will occur is when the sign-ups will begin. Citizens that are UN members, and not members of the Armed Forces, will have 1 week to sign-up and campaign. On the 8th, the election will begin, and will run for 1 week. On the 15th, the top 2 candidates will be chosen, and another election will run, to pick the actual winner of the election. The last 2 candidates will then be allowed to make ONE, and only ONE, additional statement sometime during the final stage of the election. The start of the 3-month term for the winner will then be the 22nd, the day after the final stage of the election will have been concluded, which is also when the old UN Delegate shall officially be relieved of his/her duties, and when all UN members of The Imperial Dominion shall be asked to remove most of their endorsements from the former UN Delegate, and add them to the new one.
